Japanese archaeologist finds out that 83 centimeters (32.68 inches) repeats in the ancient city of Teotihuacan

Source: latino.foxnews.com

Japanese archaeologist Saburo Sugiyama discovered that the architects of the ancient city of Teotihuacan based their designs on a numerical measure equivalent to 83 centimeters (32.68 inches), Mexico's National Institute of Anthropology and History, or INAH, reported. Sugiyama presented the finding during the 5th Teotihuacán Round Table, an INAH-sponsored gathering of experts on the largest city build by indigenous peoples in Mexico.

The researcher said that by making calculations based on the measurements of the pyramids at Teotihuacan, he was able to determine "the constant presence" of the 83-centimeter unit. Sugiyama, an associate research professor at Arizona State University and professor at Aichi Prefectural University in Japan, said that the stairway, the roof beams and the distance between the sculptures of snakeheads at the Quetzalcoatl Pyramid all use this measurement.

"The roof beam measures 1.66 meters in length, which corresponds to twice the unit I'm suggesting. The same thing occurs with the distance between the snakeheads which is four times the unit, and with the length of the stairway, which 13.2 meters, which is equivalent to 16 times the unit," he said. "One can also observe this numerical pattern in the pyramids of the Sun and Moon, as well as in the Citadel," he said.

Teotihuacán, located about 80 kilometers (50 miles) northeast of the Mexican capital, flourished between the first and seventh centuries and was the second-largest pre-Columbian city in the hemisphere. The city had a maximum size of 20 square kilometers (7.7 square miles) and was inhabited by 100,000 people, but it is not known who founded it or why it was abandoned.

Sugiyama spoke about the possible symbolism of the Pyramid of the Moon, where human burials and offerings were found during a 1998-2004 excavation project he headed. The expert said that the pyramid was a sacred temple, at which "they performed ceremonies linked to the celestial movements, the fire-water duality and the rebirth of the day."
Sugiyama made a tunnel into the interior of that structure and discovered up to seven different levels of construction.
In some of those levels he found human remains wearing "necklaces and earrings of green stone with designs of what seemed to be tied cords."

For the Maya, those designs "were ornamental figures linked to the elite or authority, which suggests to us some type of relationship between Mayas and Teotihuacan residents," he said. At another burial site, the researcher discovered skeletal remains of eagles, jaguars, pumas, wolves, rattlesnakes and rabbits - "fauna linked with war and sacrifice."
That burial site also contained 12 human skeletons with the hands tied, 10 of them decapitated, and the other two with ornaments and a jade awl driven into their shoulders that was used for self-sacrifice.

Besouro, a movie about a real life supernatural Capoeira fighter from Brazil

Source: Tubodobesouro youtube channel, associatedcontent.com

The 2009 movie Besouro is based on true and actual events of a legendary fighter and practitioner in Capoeira history starring Ailton Carmo as Besouro and directed by Joao Daniel Tijhomiroff . At the turn of the century, capoeira was illegal in Brazil because of its association with street gangs and criminals. In many places it was all but wiped out but some still practiced the art, the best of them become legends. One such character was Mestre Besouro, who was believed by many to have the supernatural powers of being invincible because of his uncanny ability to avoid bullets and turn into a beetle to escape trouble. More information after you watch the trailer below.

Born Manuel Henrique in 1895, Besouro learned capoeira from a young age with Mestre Alipio, on the streets of Santa Amaro da Purificaçao. He was often in trouble with the law and was a well known outlaw though was well respected in his community.

When police officers tried to arrest him, he would disarm them with his capoeira moves and one time is said to have made a troublesome soldier drink until he passed out. The soldier, angry at the humiliation, returned with ten officers to arrest the capoeira Mestre. Besouro was waiting for them and refused to surrender so they opened fire on him. He fell to the ground but when they approached, he sprang up unhurt and took the solder's rifle, then ordered the other officers to leave, which they promptly did.

Though he was shot at on many occasions, Mestre Besouro was never hit by a bullet and was always the first to escape a police raid. Like many capoeira fighters of the time, he used what were believed to be magic charms, prayers and talismans to protect him and was eventually killed by a knife that had been blessed to be able to kill someone with the power of 'corpo fechado', or 'closed body'. The knife was made from a special type of wood called tucum that was also believed to have the power to kill an otherwise invincible man.

During his life, Besouro made many enemies, including a plantation owner named Dr. Zeca, who plotted his murder in 1924. He had the Mestre, who could not read, deliver a note to a man in his employ; the note simply read, "Kill the man who is delivering this card".

After delivering the note, Besouro stayed the night but when he went outside in the morning, he found himself surrounded by forty soldiers.

They opened fire but as usual, the apparent power of corpo fechado protected him and he managed to dodge the bullets without getting hit once. He was about to make good his escape when a man by the name of Eusebio de Quisaba stabbed him in the back with the specially prepared knife.

The capoeira Mestre Besouro Manganga was only 27 years old when he was killed. He is seen by modern capoeirista as a hero who fought against the oppression and persecution of the authorities and today his memory serves as a symbol of bravery and loyalty.

Unlock Your Mind: Quantum Levitation

Source: villagevoice.com article written By Nick Greene, ASTCvideos on Youtube

"A researcher from Tel-Aviv University demonstrates how the quantum superconductor becomes locked in the magnetic field as it conducts electricity without resistance. This makes it 'float'. The above video comes via the Association of Science-Technology Centers, and it shows a superconductive disc locked in 'quantum levitation'."

"We start with a single crystal sapphire wafer and coat it with a thin (~1µm thick) ceramic material called yttrium barium copper oxide (YBa2Cu3O7-x ). The ceramic layer has no interesting magnetic or electrical properties at room temperature. However, when cooled below -185ºC (-301ºF) the material becomes a superconductor. It conducts electricity without resistance, with no energy loss. Zero.

Superconductivity and magnetic field do not like each other. When possible, the superconductor will expel all the magnetic field from inside. This is the Meissner effect. In our case, since the superconductor is extremely thin, the magnetic field DOES penetrates. However, it does that in discrete quantities called flux tubes.

Inside each magnetic flux tube superconductivity is locally destroyed. The superconductor will try to keep the magnetic tubes pinned in weak areas (e.g. grain boundaries). Any spatial movement of the superconductor will cause the flux tubes to move. In order to prevent that the superconductor remains 'trapped' in midair.' "

The African Renaissance Monument (Le Monument de la Renaissance africaine) near Dakar, Senegal

Source: monuraf.com, wikipedia.com

"The African Renaissance Monument (French: Le Monument de la Renaissance africaine) is a 49m (160 feet) tall bronze statue located on top one of the twin hills known as Collines des Mamelles, outside of Dakar, Senegal. Built overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in the Ouakam suburb, the statue was designed by the Senegalese architect Pierre Goudiaby after an idea presented by president Abdoulaye Wade and built by a company from North Korea. It is the tallest statue in the world outside Asia and the former Soviet Union.

The monument is a bronze statue with 3 centimeters (1.2 inches) thick copper sheets and depicts a family group emerging from a mountaintop: a full-length statue of a young woman, a man, and held aloft on the man's raised left arm, a child resolutely pointing west towards the sea. Construction of the bronze statue group was carried out by the North Korean firm Mansudae Overseas Project Group of Companies.

On 3 April 2010, the African Renaissance Monument was unveiled in Dakar in front of 19 African heads of state, including President of Malawi and the African Union Bingu wa Mutharika, Jean Ping of the African Union Commission and the Presidents of Benin, Cape Verde, Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Gambia, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania and Zimbabwe, as well as representatives from North Korea."
